"Addressing the real issues of crime, poverty, animal abuse, ignorance, greed and man’s lust for violence is far too daunting a task for most people and so we blame the dogs for our societal ills." Karen Delise

ALERT

The Alert Was Cancelled, But You Can Help
February 7, 2007 : 12:00 AM
Lake County Animal Services continues to round up animals in the

Lake County area and will carry on their efforts for the next two weeks,

according to Pat Dickinson, Dispatcher for Animal Services.

“You name it, we’ve got it,” Pat stated when asked what kind of animals they

had in their care. “Parrots, geese, ducks, chickens, horses, cows,

goats and pigs,” she said, “besides the usual cats and dogs.”

“We need all kinds of food and lots of hay,” said Pat.

“The local distributors have been good about donations,

but we still need more food.

We didn’t have any bird food until a recent donation was made,”

she said. When asked if they needed anything besides food,

Pat replied, “We need carriers to use in the field, pens to house animals,

and towels and blankets, but mostly, we need food and hay.”

Lake County has received assistance from numerous neighboring organizations

including Seminole County Animal Services. “Seminole County was hit by

a devastating storm in ’98”, said Mary Beth Lake,

Animal Supervisor for Seminole County. “I lost my home in that one,

so I feel for these people.”

Seminole County Animal Services has offered their shelter as a

deliver to Lake County Animal Services.

Please drop off items at the following locations.

This is where people like us put are efforts in.

And people say that Pitbulls are mean.

They should be ashamed.

When they're fighting to ban a breed instead of helping them.
